Funtastic Friday: Singalong-a-Zoomalong with Snow White

Funtastic Friday is here and hello to you all, what have we got to share? Well the oojit was plinged and spun about and the Make and Play lab filled with flashy splashy lights, so hang on to your paint pots and here we go…

Here comes the beautiful Princess Snow White, all the way from Queen Wickeds Palace. Snow White has recorded a special singalong song for her ‘Singalong-a-Zoomalong’ to share with you all. She has changed the words so she can sing about her favourite hobby. Can you guess what that is and do you recognise the song? Shout out if you do…

Can you use your peepers to find the Snow White words in our wacky wordsearch?

Snow White has written out her song words, if you want to play her song again and sing along.

That was Snow’s version of ‘Can’t Stop The Feelin’ by the ‘FUNTASTIC’ Justin Timberlake.

‘I can’t stop the cleaning, whoooo hooo’!! Thank you Snow White, we all shimmied our way around the Make & Play Lab and everything is sparkling

WOW everyone put those sunshades on to stop the glare!

Making a Swan in Origami

Next up we have some funtabulous Origami with Brandon D.  He is very cool and in honour of our Royal Maj (Queen Wicked), he has decided to share with us all ‘how to make an swan’!

Grab a piece of A4 paper and get ready to fold.

How good is that? We were so excited to see Brandon in the Makers & Players lab, looking forward to seeing him soon.  While he was making Swans, we found some fantastic Swan facts, and here they are…

Swans really do kiss!

Now before we go, we thought you might some more ideas from the Boffins to get planning your own Singalong-a-Zoomalong.

You will have spotted how to make your own invitation, if you want a reminder, pop back to the Magic Monday page and scroll down.  Next you will have picked your song, or you can use one of Queenies, also on the Magic Monday page. However we thought you might like to make some musical instruments to help the singing.

Here are some ideas to play with.

Now you are ready to sing and make a right Royal Rumpus.

Queen Wicked has added to her challenge with the ‘Singing Game’, you can challenge your friends too, here is what to do!

First you make your own singing wheel like this one

Now you must take heed, this games comes with a WARNING: This game is incredibly silly!

The Zoom master (you), will spin the Singing Wheel and whatever word it lands on, your contestant must sing their song in that style. You won’t get much sillier than that and you can rattle and shake and play your instruments just for fun, or you can play a tune with them and see if your guests can ‘name that tune’.

Group Singing Word Game!

Here’s another fun group singing game, but this type it’s word association!

  1. Split into two teams. Team 1 confers secretly, and decides on a word, any word at all.
  2. They tell Team 2 the word, who have 30 seconds to think of a popular song with that word in the lyrics.
  3. Team 2 must now as a group perform the line of the song with that word in it. They will get a point if at least one member of Team 1 is familiar with the song and can confirm it exists. If they do, Team 2 get a point!
  4. Now it’s Team 2’s turn to think of a word to challenge Team 1. The winner is the team with the most points after both teams have had 5 turns each.

Here’s a list of words for the challenge in case you get stuck:

• Happy
• Sad
• Love
• Brother
• Sister
• Boyfriend
• Dance
• Sweet
• Hair
• Eyes
• Fun
• Friend
• Dream
